Privacy Policy

Introduction
Welcome to MeetUpThere. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy will inform you about how we handle your personal data when you use our application and tell you about your privacy rights and how the law protects you.
Information We Collect
We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you, including:
- •Identity Data: First name, last name, username or similar identifier.
- •Contact Data: Email address and phone numbers.
- •Location Data: Information about your travel destinations and current location when you choose to share it.
- •Calendar Data: Event titles, locations, notes and dates read from your device calendar, only while you are using the Import from calendar feature. See Calendar Access below.
- •Technical Data: Device information, browser type, and IP address.
- •Usage Data: Information about how you use our application.
Calendar Access
MeetUpThere can read your device calendar to suggest trips from flights, hotel stays and other bookings you have already made, so you do not have to enter them by hand. This feature is optional. It does nothing until you grant calendar permission and open the Import from calendar screen, and you can refuse or later revoke that permission in your device settings without affecting the rest of the app.
- •When we read it: Only while you are actively using the Import from calendar screen, and only for the date range you choose. We do not read your calendar in the background and we do not monitor it for changes.
- •What we read: The title, location, notes, start and end dates, and whether an event repeats. We read across all calendars on the device, because travel is often split between personal and work calendars. We never create, modify or delete events.
- •Where it is processed: On your device. Working out which events look like travel happens entirely on the phone, and your calendar events are never uploaded to or stored on MeetUpThere servers.
- •What is sent to Google: To turn a place into a city, the location text from a matching event — for example a hotel name or a street address — is sent to the Google Places API to be looked up. Google handles that request under its own privacy policy. No other part of the event is sent, and no lookup happens for events that do not look like travel.
- •What we store: Only the trips you review and confirm on the import screen: destination city, dates, and anything you type yourself. These are the same details as a trip you add by hand. Suggestions you dismiss are remembered on your device so they stop reappearing, and are not sent to us.
